Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who is also India’s best known blogger, recently revealed some details about traffic flowing through his blog.

Amitabh has been blogging at bigb.bigadda.com since April this year and following is a summary of his blog stats:

• Total Page Views since April: 11.5 million
• Total Number of Unique Visitors since April: 1 million
• Total Number of Unique + Regular visitors since April: 2.5 million

While these are extremely impressive figures for sure, it does hint that only a very small fraction of India’s 1 billion strong population may actually be reading blogs online.

At the same time, stars like him have definitely helped popularize the concept of blogs here.
